Bipul Ahmed
About Me Bipul Ahmed is an award-winning Bangladeshi visual artist, documentary photographer and photojournalist whose work explores the intersection of people, climate, environment and resilience.
Born and raised in a village in Bangladesh, Bipul developed an early connection with nature, light and the human stories surrounding him. He began his photographic journey in 2019, initially creating photographs with a mobile phone, and has since developed a distinctive documentary practice shaped by curiosity, observation and a deep interest in the lives of communities often overlooked by the wider world.
His work focuses particularly on the human consequences of climate change and environmental vulnerability. From communities living with water scarcity and salinity to people facing floods, displacement and changing landscapes, Bipul uses photography to document not only difficult realities, but also dignity, resilience and hope.
Bipul works internationally as a Photojournalist/Photographer with NurPhoto Agency (Italy), Amazing Aerial Agency (Croatia) and Solent News & Photo Agency (UK). His photographs have been published in more than 100 media outlets across 30+ countries, including The Guardian, The Washington Post, The Daily Telegraph, The Times, The Sun, DW (Deutsche Welle), Mail Plus, VSD Magazine, 20 Minutes, People’s Daily, CCTV Asia Pacific, The Daily Star and many others.
His photographs have been exhibited internationally in Albania, Singapore, Turkey and Italy, and his work has received more than 100 national and international awards and recognitions.
Alongside his photographic practice, Bipul is the Founder of Sonar Bangla Tour, where he creates immersive photography experiences in Bangladesh for international photographers and visual storytellers. This work has further strengthened his understanding of Bangladesh’s landscapes, cultures and communities and allowed him to share the country through a deeply personal visual perspective.
For Bipul, photography is more than creating beautiful images. It is a way of witnessing, remembering and connecting.
“A photograph can be more powerful than a thousand words.”
Through his work, Bipul aims to create photographs that evoke empathy, spark awareness and amplify unheard voices—images that remain meaningful long after the moment they were captured.
